Associate Professor, Department of Physics

Country of origin: Pakistan
What I do.
Presently I am working on a relatively new field of optics, namely atom optics. I am also a regular visitor to the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy.
What I find exciting.
Being the first woman in Pakistan with a PhD in the field of quantum optics has been a wonderful experience. My work with ICTP and LAM-an African Organization in Optics-has allowed me to travel and meet scientists in different conditions and from many cultures. This has been a very rewarding activity for me both from a professional and human point of view.
What I wish someone had told me.
I believe in oneness that is the manifest reality. Any perceived separateness is but an illusion. Within our beautiful prism of oneness shine many rays of individual brilliance. Let us shine together.
