With so many quantum computing modalities still under development, the proliferation of new and diverse designs has highlighted challenges in connecting customers to the appropriate suppliers, what economists call a matching problem. Photonics suppliers are interested in how customers apply their products as solutions, yet specific photonics standards in quantum technologies are only now beginning to be established. This panel will discuss current supply chain pain points faced today in quantum technologies, what specific challenges are being faced by the photonics industry, and the role of standards in mitigating sourcing risks.
